DOMESTIC TREE SURGERY IN KENT

With over 25 years’ experience you know you’re receiving the best knowledge and professional service available in Kent. We cover all aspects of tree surgery and have a wealth of domestic customers that use our services year after year.

We know domestic customers have differing requirements as opposed to woodland trees. We take into consideration factors such as light, tree growth and control. No job is too small so contact us today for a no obligation quote.

COMMERCIAL TREE SURGERY IN KENT

We offer a full range of commercial tree surgery solutions for businesses in Kent. For example, we can deal with the clearance of development sites, commercial contracts for estates and industrial parks and large scale commercial projects.

Just like our domestic tree management services, we can deliver anything from a small one-off project to a large scale on-going contract.

TREE FELLING

This is necessary sometimes if a tree is diseased, overhanging a road, or growing too near a building or power lines. Trees can be removed by either straight fells or by sectionally felling using lowering and rigging techniques. Straight fells will be carried out where there is no risk to any property or persons. Whereas sectional felling is carried out in confined spaces.

SECTIONALLY DISMANTLING

We dismantle large and dangerous trees section by section; either using a rope and harness climbing system, or using a mobile elevated work platform in order to ensure full safety for our qualified arborists, as well as the properties and surrounding area on the ground.

CROWN REDUCTION AND CROWN RESHAPING

Crown Reduction is the process of reducing the size of the trees overall canopy by shortening the branches evenly throughout the crown. This can involve reshaping an unbalanced crown leaving the tree with a symmetrical canopy.

CROWN LIFTING AND CROWN THINNING

Crown Lifting and Thinning are alternatives to crown reductions to allow more light into your garden whilst retaining the natural shape of the tree. It can also reduce the risk over trees uprooting in high winds. Crown lifting removes the lower branches of the tree whereas crown thinning removes selected smaller branches from within the crown.

POLLARDING

So what is pollarding? Well, it’s a system of heavy pruning of trees and shrubs to remove the upper most branches. This helps keeps a tree to a preferred height. Regular pollarding (every 12 months) will restrict the plant to that height and shape.

DEAD WOODING

Dead wooding involves removing dead, dying and diseased branches. The purpose of dead wooding is to make the tree safe directly under the crown. If damaged branches are left they can break off which can be dangerous to people, buildings and the tree itself. It can also attract additional pests and affects the aesthetic appearance of the tree. All work carried out is to BS3998:2010.

PRUNING TREES AND SHRUBS

Pruning by a qualified and professional tree surgeon will help encourage healthy growth and flowering of trees and plants. For example, Magnolia trees must be pruned after the first flowering in Spring to reduce the likelihood of infection by pest and disease whereas normal fruit trees, such as Apple or Pear trees, must be pruned mid-Winter.

Our arborists have extensive  knowledge and experience of the trees, shrubs and plants in Kent and can therefore advice you on the best time to prune.

HEDGE TRIMMING AND REDUCTION

A well-kept hedge can reward you with colour, flowers, berries and even wildlife – it truly can transform any garden big or small. The level of care a hedge requires is dependant on their species. Some hedges may only need trimming once a year but others may require more seasonal care.

So choosing a local tree surgeon from A. Bird Ltd will ensure your hedges are trimmed correctly and at the right time of the year.

TREE REPORTS AND TREE ASSESSMENTS

You may need a professional tree report for a risk assessment, a mortgage, insurance purposes or some kind of planning. In many cases it is a legal requirement.

We can carry out in-depth aerial and ground assessments of trees as well as the diagnosing of possible pest and disease in trees and plants.

For peace of mind, contact us today to discuss your needs and we will run through the best option for you.

24 HOUR EMERGENCY CALL OUT (NO CALL OUT CHARGE)

We therefore offer a 24 Hour call out service throughout Whitstable, Canterbury, Herne Bay and the surrounding area of Kent in order to deal with fallen branches and damaged limbs. We can also help save trees to avoid further damage.
